Climb Mount Kilimanjaro via the Rongai route less crowded because of its remote location, the route offers trekkers a unique wilderness experience where it is possible to see large wildlife like antelopes, elephant and buffalo. As well there is typically less moisture on this side of themountain. The Rongai route is one of the easiest routes up Kilimanjaro. It is the only route to approach Kilimanjaro from the north and descend via Marangu route.
Mount Meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania and the fifth highest in Africa with the elevation of 4,562 meters above the sea level. It is located inside of Arusha National Park, two hours’ drive from Moshi. Similar to Mount Kilimanjaro, this is not a technical climb so no special climbing gear or techniques are needed. The climb is most commonly done in fours days although a three-day option is possible, but not recommended unless You are quite fit and experienced. The climb is steeper than on Mount Kilimanjaro.
