One thing is certain – safari is an experience you will remember for the rest of your life!
Ngorongoro – with a visit to the volcano crater
The Ngorongoro Caldera is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, mainly due to the diversity of the animals that live there. This is a protected area that takes its name from the volcano’s crater. The Olduvai Gorge is also located in Ngorongoro, where some of the oldest traces of human presence have been found.
Kilimanjaro – conquer Africa’s highest mountain!
In the middle of the endless plains of Tanzania, the lonely massif of Kilimanjaro rises at almost 6,000 meters – the largest mountain of the continent. Climbing the Roof of Africa requires quite good physical condition and experience, so it is not an attraction for everyone. Trek through the rainforest that lushly covers the mountainsides before reaching Mount Kilimanjaro
Zanzibar – get to know all the faces of the paradise island!
This largest island in Tanzania is known worldwide for its exotic beaches. In fact – white sand, turquoise water and palm trees make it a paradise for people seeking rest. However, Zanzibar has so much more to offer! For lovers of intense flavors and cooking, we recommend the so-called spice tour, i.e. an expedition to spice plantations. You will surely be charmed by the atmosphere of the Stone Town – the old part of the capital of Zanzibar. In your free time, it is also worth going to Jozani Forest, a national park where you can see the life of red geese, monkeys that can be found only in this place.
Mnemba Atoll – discover the underwater world of the coral reef!
Tanzania offers a lot of interesting diving sites, both for beginners and advanced. One of the most popular locations is Mnemba Atoll. It is an ideal place for diving and snorkeling as many parts of the coral reef are relatively shallow. If you’re lucky, you’ll have the opportunity to meet a whale shark or a green turtle up close!
Prison Island – what do turtles have to do with quarantine?
During the colonial period, people who came to East Africa had to be quarantined on Changuu Island, also known as Prison Island. However, beautiful views meant that tourists also began to come to this place. Currently, the biggest attraction of Prison Island is the giant turtle sanctuary with an extraordinary history. The first four individuals appeared there in 1919 and were a gift from the Governor of Seychelles. The favorable environment of the island meant that 100 years later, the population of the Aldabra giant tortoise is counted in the hundreds.
Lake Natron – one of the most amazing water reservoirs in the world
Lake Natron is certainly not a permanent point of excursions, but this place may be of interest to lovers of non-obvious beauty of nature. The intensely red water of this lake is not an environment that encourages life, as it reaches very high salinity and highly alkaline reaction. The temperature of the water, which in hot months reaches over 60 degrees Celsius, does not help either. Surprisingly, however, Lake Natron is a place of an extraordinary spectacle of nature. It is one of the main habitats of flamingos – thousands of these birds come here every year during the breeding season.
